Girls "Vomit"

"Father, Son, Holy Ghost" is an album from the indie group "Girls" that I am hotly anticipating. This is a band that had a stellar debut and an EP that is better than other bands best material. So far I have heard two singles from the upcoming release, one called "Vomit" and the other titled "Honey Bunny". Both of them are very good, but I fell in love with "Vomit" the most. The song is achingly beautiful, I enjoyed the way that it gets off to a slow start, then picks up the pace and energy as the track progresses. The energy intensifies and reaches a very satisfying crescendo only to slowly come back down to earth. Sure this is a commonly used method that has worked for a whole lot of songs in the past, but this band manages to make it feel organic and natural. Additionally there is a gospel sound and a spiritual tone to "Vomit", making the song life affirming and grandiose. This is further enhanced by the powerful female vocals that come in towards the end of the song; very reminiscent of Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky".
