The newcomer of the year will wrap up his 2011 output by giving us a treat via an EP titled "Love What Happened Here". This could be his version of a holiday gift to his audiophile fans. The title track to the EP is very similar to the material that was floating around before his debut LP "James Blake". The song has the futuristic warped sound that recalls "The Bells Sketch" EP minus the catchy gospel organ that make an occasional appearance. This was the direction that I expected James Blake's first album to take, however the man had other ideas; decided to surprise us by choosing a more stripped down road. I do hope that he approaches 2012 with the same vigor, keeping us on our toes, not knowing what to expect from his next move.
